Thank you again Suzi for that fantastic workshop.  I have taught two classes since returning home and both groups LOVED the work and want to continue integrating these principles into our practice.  For me - I see no other way to practice except slowly and with awareness - this is what drew me to your work in the first place.  I will look forward to getting the dates for the 4 day intensive in Duluth next summer.

Susi,

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful workshops you held at the
Toronto Yoga Conference. They put a lot of loose ideas that I had of anatomy together so now I can begin to better understand some of the anatomy books that I already have!! I am definitely getting that spinal strip.

Thanks for all your help!!
Peace,

Marla Pelletier

Hi Susi,

I just wanted to express a heart felt thank-you for the workshop on shoulders and hips on Thursday.  I look forward to putting all of the information into practise as well as taking more workshops with you.

Some months ago I had put the intention out there to be able to combine my physiotherapy practice and my yoga teacher training - that's when I first discovered you.  Then when I saw that you had worked together with Lorrie Maffey (who I know from our home town), it was another sign that I was moving in the right direction.  Then, as I read the E-zines and discovered that you also had collaborated with Neil Pearson (who had been my orthopedic manual skills lab assistant at Queen's), it was just one more sign that I am moving in the right direction.  Signs like these never cease to amaze and excite me.

I am looking forward to the Core workshop in September.  My plan will be to do some more workshops with you next spring at the Yoga Show in Toronto and then take the 4 day intensive in September, 2009.

Namaste and be well,

Anita Perrigo

Hello, I just wanted to thank you writing this book on the knee because about two and half years ago I had my ACL reconstructed and just going back to the Martial Arts now.   It has been about 4 months or so, but some of the stretching they do is done incorrectly.   I snapped my ACL in Tae Known Do for this reason and want to avoid doing it incorrectly and instead of strengthening it like we all think we may be doing it we may be weakening it like I did 6 years ago.    Thanks again for writing this book.
Thanks,

Darin Johnson

I continue to be amazed at the wealth of information in this book! I
continue to get emails about other publications Susi publishes
and I eventually want to add all of them to my resource library!

Hi.  I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the book Anatomy and Asana and the web book, The Sacroiliac Joints.  They have been very helpful on my path to becoming a yoga instructor.  They are very well written, easy to understand and even fun!  I will be purchasing the other additions down the road, as well.  Thanks for the great work.

I really enjoyed the teleclasses and all your books that I have ordered.
I would rate you a 10. ;-)

How have these things worked for me? They have helped me gain a incite to my own dysfunctions in my body which in turn, has helped me and also gave me the experience to share with my students.

I Have told people that : You have a way of listening to people and  describing back to them in terms that the lay person can understand. Your knowledge of anatomy and movement is vast and you are very keen on all that you do. I can just tell you live and breath what you teach.

Here is an update since your workshop.  My client is very overweight
and in a high stress job so he is very, very tight although He has
incredible body awareness.  He came in with pretty severe pain in his right pectoral area. I could see how much he was holding in his thoracic spine but he also has a history of alot of SI and knee pain with pelvic instability.

I took him through a very simple movement series utilizing much of what we did throughout the last couple of days.  I started with opening his thoracic area in a supine position and gradually brought him upright while integrating his lower extremity.  He left with no pain and saying he felt lighter and taller. It was such great fun!!  Felt like I was getting back to my roots.  So Thank you Very much!!!

Have a great evening. Talk to you soon.

“Susi rocks! I’ve been teaching yoga since 2001 and until I started training with Susi, I always found anatomy to be confusing and technical. Now I find it logical and easy to understand.

Susi’s language is plain English; and she makes the principles of movement, anatomy and therapeutic yoga accessible to everyone. Her trainings aren’t about learning a bunch of fancy words; they’re about learning to really feel what’s happening in the body, to feel the effects of simple but powerful therapeutic techniques, and ultimately to help ourselves and our students improve the way we move in the world.

Susi teaches a movement “philosophy” based entirely on anatomical facts. She understands and teaches that there aren’t “recipes” for therapeutic yoga, but there are simple principles that any teacher can follow to ensure they aren’t doing harm. That’s powerful stuff for those of us that teach people who come to us in pain!
